We build our Aromatic Southern Red Cedar Furniture from scratch. It begins in the Minnesota prairie, where red cedar growns wild on farms, fields and along highways. We harvest the best trees, air dry them for no less than a full year to reduce and stablize the wood. This is when Mother Nature makes her artful contribution adding beetle tracks, burrs and distinct color varations. The logs then are sawn into cants. (6" x 6" timbers) and dried in a kiln to sterilize the wood and make the moisture content perfect for building furniture. These cants finally get sawn into the 1' and 1 1/2" thick boards we use to build this furniture. We use only the best quality hardware including Grass European concealed hinges. Full extension drawer glides and solid maple dove-tailed drawer boxes. This furniture is truly heirloom quality that will be handed down for generations.
